Singapore, 10 December 2013 – Far East Hospitality today announced the opening of AMOY, its newest boutique hotel and the first in Singapore to incorporate a museum that traces the footsteps of early immigrants from China. Aptly located within Far East Square, a heritage conservation project in the heart of the Central Business District and along the original shoreline where early migrants first landed, AMOY is Far East Hospitality’s second hotel to open in two months.
As part of AMOY’s authentic experience, guests will enter the contemporary hotel via Fuk Tak Chi, Singapore’s first street museum that was formerly a temple and the headquarters for the Hakka and Cantonese communities in the 1800s. The guest experience is further enhanced by the hotel’s intricate interior design tailored to enhance each room’s unique layout. In addition to distinct blueprints, each room is emblazoned with a Chinese family name on the door, an ode to the contribution of Singapore’s early migrants who lived around the area.
“Today’s savvy travelers have high expectations. As a homegrown brand, we are positioned to offer them more than just comfortable stays because we can deliver the unique Singaporean experience. We want to tell the Singapore story and create the bespoke journey so that our guests can immerse in the discovery of intriguing Singaporean heritage,” said Mr Arthur Kiong, Chief Executive Officer of Far East Hospitality. “At AMOY, we also make it a point to welcome all our foreign travelers from the airport, just like how early migrants were picked up by their loved ones upon arriving on Singapore’s shores. This is our commitment to ensure that our service is personalized.”
Guests staying at the smoke-free, 37-room hotel can enjoy the convenience and value of being in close proximity to business, leisure and dining locations, and the Raffles Place MRT station. Apart from being in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District, the hotel is a 10-minute walk to shopping and leisure areas like Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Chinatown.
As part of AMOY’s official launch, Far East Hospitality is offering opening promotions at $218++ for Cosy Single room and $268++ for Deluxe Double room. The rates are inclusive of a range of complimentary services to every guest, including arrival transfers from the airport, unlimited broadband Internet access, continental breakfast and light in-room refreshments.
